FORMER GMD OF NIGERIA OIL CORPORATION DIES AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS.- NNPC

The Nigeria National Petroleum corporation has announced with regrets the demise of its immediate past Group managing director (GMD) Dr Maikanti Kacalla Baru on Friday night.

In a press release on twitter the Group General manager, Group Public Affairs Dr kennie Obateru described Dr Bari as a consummate mechanical engineer who died after a brief illness at an Abuja hospital.

The release in a long thread also indicated that the current GMD of the NNPC expressed shock over the sudden death of Dr Bari who was the 18th Group managing director of the corporation.

Mallam Kyari according to the release described him as a man of exemplary character and disposition.

It also  added that Dr Baru died at the age of 60  who was until his death was at the helms otf affairs of the corporation between July the 4th 2016 to July 7th.

However, Nigerians have continued to express their condolences over the sudden death of the late GMD.
