In spite of its daily civic commitment to inform Nigerians on the threats posed by covid-19 and the need to observe precautionary measures, many Nigerians are still finding it difficult to trust the efforts of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

Apart from defying the social distance measures clearly spelt out by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the presidential task force on covid-19,  the NCDC and other agencies of government providing health services as witnessed in many part of the Northern states during the Eid-el-fitri religious festivity, many more are doubting the existence of covid-19 in Nigeria.

This followed a video of one the isolation centres in kano state and an audio revelation of a supposed victim of covid-19 which surfaced online.

The authenticity of these videos have yet to be verified but many Nigerians are now quick to suggest that covid-19 could be a scam in Nigeria with a trending hash tag #StopCovidLies

They want schools, and worship centres reopened as well as have hospitals and businesses get back to normalcy.

But going by NCDC update as of 25th  of May 2020, Nigeria is now at 4th place in the continent with covid-19 infections.

This apparently means the Africa most populous nation has breached the 8000 benchmark, with total number of infections now at 8,068.
