ISHA SESAY, KHADIJAH'S FATHER DEMAND JUSTICE



FORMER CNN HOST DEMAND FOR JUSTICE OVER THE RAPE AND DEATH OF FIVE YEAR OLD KHADIJAH SACCOH

Former Cable Network News (CNN) anchor and correspondent Isha Sesay has joined the calls to demand justice for a Five year old Sierra Leonean girl who was raped and murdered by her Uncle.

Ms Sesay who is of a British and Sierra Leone extraction, described little Khadijah Saccoh's rape and death as uncalled for while describing sierra Leone as a country with shameful rape culture.




The popular American journalist who is now working independently hinted that the west African country has an exponential surge in cases of violence against girls and women.

Ms Isha Sesay who felt heartbroken and angry over this incident also said she will be lending her efforts with those fighting to end the culture of impunity on gender-based violence.


Meanwhile, Khadijah's father Abubakarr Saccoh is also demanding for justice over the death of his daughter, with hopes of seeing  women take to the streets of sierra Leone to push for an end to the disturbing trend of rape.

The first lady of sierra Leone Fatima Jabbw Maada Bio has also written to express her misgiving over the development.



Little  Khadijah Saccoh was raped multiple times by her uncle according to autopsy report, and she is believed to have died of complications from the sexual assaults.

Khadijah's uncle and his mother who was accused of concealing the rape episodes have now been arrested.
