Former Abia state governor and presently chief whip of the senate, senator Orji Uzor Kalu has resumed his legislative duties after spending six months at the kuje correctional centre for financial impropriety.
Video clips from the national assembly on Tuesday showed the senate whip exchanging pleasantries with colleagues and staff of the upper legislative arm.
Early last month, Nigeria apex court had found faults in the conviction of senator kalu on grounds that the lower court acted out of jurisdiction.
This is especially because the presiding judge justice Mohammed Idris that had handled the case since 2017 was elevated before the conclusion of the case and had to leave his new post to deliver the verdict the supreme court had found to be controversial.
It was this basis that the once embattled politician regained his freedom in a 7.1 billion naira fraud.
