The presidency has insisted that there is no law barring president Mohammadu Buhari from holding a political meeting at the presidential Villa, Abuja.

Presidential Spokesperson Garba Shehu was reacting to what he called stubborn criticism of the president for addressing the recent National Executive Committee Meeting of the All progressives Congress from the Federal executive council chamber.

Mr Shehu explained that since the president lives at the villa, no can dictate to him where to sit to hold meetings, while emphasing that  the meeting was a  virtual and not a physical one.

He added that in view of the covid-19 pandemic, the president had to place safety and health above courtesy to the party by not going to its headquarters for the meeting.
